Treatment with your own eggs
The path to parenthood using your own reproductive cells
Infertility treatment using your own eggs is one of the most common methods of assisted reproduction. It is intended for women who wish to become pregnant using their own eggs and the sperm of their partner or a donor. Modern methods of reproductive medicine allow you to increase the chance of successful conception even in cases where natural pregnancy is not possible or is significantly difficult.
Each treatment plan is compiled individually based on the woman’s age, examination results, ovarian reserve and other factors that may affect fertility. Our goal is to offer tailor-made treatment and guide you through the entire process with maximum expertise, sensitivity and support.
How does IVF with your own eggs work?
The IVF method (in vitro fertilization) involves fertilizing an egg outside the woman’s body in an embryology laboratory. After successful fertilization and embryo cultivation, the selected embryo is transferred back to the uterus, where its natural development can continue.
Initial examination and treatment plan
The first step is a comprehensive examination of both partners. The doctor will evaluate the health status, results of hormonal tests, ultrasound examination and spermiogram. Based on this information, he will suggest the most appropriate treatment.
Hormonal stimulation of the ovaries
The goal of hormonal stimulation is to support the maturation of a larger number of eggs during one cycle. Thanks to this, more high-quality eggs can be obtained and the chance of healthy embryos is increased. Throughout the stimulation period, the patient is regularly monitored using ultrasound and hormonal examinations.
Egg retrieval
Once the follicles are sufficiently developed, the eggs are retrieved. The procedure is performed under short anesthesia under ultrasound control and usually lasts only a few minutes. After 2 hours of rest, the patient can go home.
Egg fertilization
On the day of eggs retrieval, a sperm sample is also obtained. Embryologists then select the highest quality sperm and perform fertilization using the classic IVF method or the ICSI method, in which one sperm is introduced directly into the egg. The choice of method depends on the couple’s individual situation and the quality of the sperm.
Embryo cultivation
The embryos are cultivated in special media for 2-6 days before being introduced into the patient’s uterus. Embryologists continuously monitor their development and select embryos with the highest potential for implantation. High-quality embryos that are not used in the first transfer can be frozen and stored for future use. This eliminates the need to repeat the entire stimulation cycle for the next attempt.
Embryo transfer
Embryo transfer is a simple and mostly painless procedure in which a selected embryo is inserted into the uterine cavity using a thin catheter. In most cases, one embryo is transferred to ensure maximum safety of the treatment.
